A founder member of the critically acclaimed ensemble CHROMA, the Rothko String Trio the Saxaphone quartet B(l)ow, and the newly formed Morphosen, she has also appeared with the Mainardi Trio, the Marais Ensemble, the Brunel Ensemble and the Le Page Ensemble.

A prolific performer of contemporary music, she has worked with Ensemble Exposé, the New Music Players, Uroborus Ensemble and Psappha, and been instrumental in commissioning new works for CHROMA and Rothko.

She is principal cellist of Sound Collective, a member of the Orchestra of the Swan, and has played with many orchestras including the City of London Sinfonia, RPO, BBC Welsh, Liverpool Philharmonic and the Ulster Orchestra.

She is a graduate of Wadham College, Oxford and the Royal College of Music, and furthered her studies with Alexander Baillie at the Hochschule für Künste, Bremen.

Clare is keen to bring classical music to young children. She set up and curates the CHROMA series of interactive children’s concerts in Hertfordshire, working with storytellers and other artists to make the programme as engaging as possible for its young audiences.
