After a year of lockdown, the Bridgewater Sinfonia is delighted to return to the concert platform.
Carl Maria von Weber's overture to his 1823 opera Euryanthe opens tonight's exciting concert, an outstanding example of the early German Romantic style. We are joined by Alison Teale, principal oboe of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, for Richard Strauss' Oboe Concerto (1945), and conclude with Edward Elgar's exquisite Symphony No. 1 (1908).
